Goes past such historical sites as President Millard Filmore's birthplace in Moravia as well as one of the many boyhood homes of John D. Rockefeller Sr., the oil baron. A short trip to the Harriet Tubman National Park and the route will leave Owasco Lake and head south via the Salmon Creek floodplain back to the start. From Finger Lakes Randonneurs: This is the 2nd day loop of the Letchworth Cayuga 600k but starting/finishing in Ithaca rather than Penn Yan, with a few slight deviations in Ithaca and Geneva. A ride north and west through the Finger Lakes Forest to Geneva and the northernmost point, to the site of Kanadasaga, a former Seneca Indian village. Riding south along the west side of Seneca Lake you will pass through Watkins Glen, then Montour Falls before heading north and east back to Ithaca. It will then proceed through Ellis Hollow through Boiceville and up a long climb to South/Honeypot Rd. From Finger Lakes Randonneurs: Starting at the Hangar Theater, site of an airport started in 1912, the ride proceeds south to Harris Hill above Elmira. Harris Hill is the Soaring Capital of America, famous as a site for glider flights. Proceeding westward the route heads toward Hammondsport where you will pass the Glenn Curtis Museum. Curtis, an early aviation pioneer also made bikes and motorcycles.
