Let’s share our passion for cycling with each other, in the off-season, during this special event. This is an opportunity to meet and network with like-minded cyclists from across our region. What: Bike Trips, Bike Tours, and Bikepacking Adventures. An afternoon of short slideshows presented by FLCC members, other bike club members, independent cyclists, and supporters. From Finger Lakes Randonneurs: The northern loop of the Lansing Auburn Weltonville 200k, RUSA Brevet #3093. Goes past such historical sites as President Millard Filmore's birthplace in Moravia as well as one of the many boyhood homes of John D. Rockefeller Sr., the oil baron. A short trip to the Harriet Tubman National Park and the route will leave Owasco Lake and head south via the Salmon Creek floodplain back to the start. From Finger Lakes Randonneurs: Starting in Ithaca, NY this ride visits many well known waterfalls in the surrounding area. This is just a small sample of the waterfalls in the Finger Lakes region between Cayuga and Seneca Lakes. From Finger Lakes Randonneurs: This is the 2nd day loop of the Letchworth Cayuga 600k but starting/finishing in Ithaca rather than Penn Yan, with a few slight deviations in Ithaca and Geneva. A ride north and west through the Finger Lakes Forest to Geneva and the northernmost point, to the site of Kanadasaga, a former Seneca Indian village. Riding south along the west side of Seneca Lake you will pass through Watkins Glen, then Montour Falls before heading north and east back to Ithaca. We'll plan to cover club business during the first half and will leave time for door prizes, socializing, free food, and maybe even some musical entertainment afterwards. FLCC gravel rides focus on fun and adventure, exploring gravel roads and trails around Ithaca. A typical ride splits into two groups, one with a relaxed pace and one with a more moderate pace. Rides are no-drop and start at 6pm, weather-permitting. A typical ride is a loop of about 20 miles with about 2,000 feet of climbing. Early-season rides build up to this, while mid-season rides may be longer when the late sunset allows. FLCC is organizing social weekend rides from May—September in 2025 that are largely targeted to intermediate riders with a pace of 12—13 mph. They’re intended to be moderately-paced rides providing exercise, but also an opportunity to meet other local riders and learn new routes. Rides will be 25—35 miles in length and get longer throughout the season. Riders should bring water and helmets, have bikes in good mechanical condition, and be comfortable with group rides on local roads.
