From Finger Lakes Randonneurs: Starting at the Hangar Theater, site of an airport started in 1912, the ride proceeds south to Harris Hill above Elmira. Harris Hill is the Soaring Capital of America, famous as a site for glider flights. Proceeding westward the route heads toward Hammondsport where you will pass the Glenn Curtis Museum. Curtis, an early aviation pioneer also made bikes and motorcycles. From Finger Lakes Randonneurs: This is the 2nd day loop of the Letchworth Cayuga 600k but starting/finishing in Ithaca rather than Penn Yan, with a few slight deviations in Ithaca and Geneva. A ride north and west through the Finger Lakes Forest to Geneva and the northernmost point, to the site of Kanadasaga, a former Seneca Indian village. Riding south along the west side of Seneca Lake you will pass through Watkins Glen, then Montour Falls before heading north and east back to Ithaca. FLCC Saturday Social Ride

FLCC is organizing social weekend rides from May—September in 2025 that are largely targeted to intermediate riders with a pace of 12—13 mph. They’re intended to be moderately-paced rides providing exercise, but also an opportunity to meet other local riders and learn new routes. Rides will be 25—35 miles in length and get longer throughout the season. Riders should bring water and helmets, have bikes in good mechanical condition, and be comfortable with group rides on local roads.
