The annual road race sponsored by the Finger Lakes Cycling Club was held on May 4, 1997. Registration and preparations for the race were held again at Hollenbeck’s Cider Mill near the center of the village of Virgil. As usual, Bruce Hollenbeck provided ample parking for cars and bikes, space for our coffee, food and registration tables indoors, and even some complimentary cranberry muffins and other goodies. The weather was chilly and windy, but otherwise beautiful for some hard cycling.

One lap=22 miles. Cat 1,2,3 and cat 3,4 raced two laps; other categories one lap. There were 118 registrations, of which 103 finished. First three places are given here.
