SUMMARY:FLCC Group Gravel Ride
DESCRIPTION:FLCC gravel rides focus on fun and adventure\, exploring gravel roads and trails around Ithaca. A typical ride splits into two groups\, one with a relaxed pace and one with a more moderate pace. Rides are no-drop and start at 6pm\, weather-permitting. A typical ride is a loop of about 20 miles with about 2\,000 feet of climbing. Early-season rides build up to this\, while mid-season rides may be longer when the late sunset allows. Start location varies by week and will be announced\, along with other details\, earlier in the week of the ride on the flcc-gravel@googlegroups.com group. SUMMARY:FLCC Saturday Social Ride
DESCRIPTION:FLCC organizes social weekend road rides from May–September that are largely targeted to intermediate riders with a pace of 12—13 mph. They’re intended to be moderately-paced rides providing exercise\, but also an opportunity to meet other local riders and learn new routes. Rides will be 25—35 miles in length and get longer throughout the season. Riders should bring water and a helmet\, have bikes in good mechanical condition\, and be comfortable with group rides on local roads. \nRides will be no-drop\, regrouping at the tops of major hills and intersections when the group is spread out. Rides will often include a social stop which will be mentioned in the weekly ride announcement. \nThe rides will generally be scheduled for Saturday mornings\, but rain dates may be Sunday mornings. We may also organize occasional “pop-up rides” on Sundays. \nThe details on specific rides\, routes\, and meeting locations will be announced each week through the FLCC Google Group. SUMMARY:SSIC Cameron Crusher Gravel endurance race
DESCRIPTION:The Cameron Crusher is the third and final gravel endurance event of the SSIC Gravel Series in Steuben County. The course consists of primarily gravel/dirt/seasonal roads with paved connectors. There is A LOT of climbing so bring your legs. We want to get you out there for a great time on what we believe to be a great course! The course will be open and traffic will be on the roads\, so please obey all traffic signs and rules of the road. There are some steep downhills and some challenging uphills. Be prepared to come to a complete stop for any traffic. You will be timed over 5 segments within the 50+ miles course. These segments will consist of 2 climbs\, 2 descents and 1 longer endurance piece. YOU WILL NOT BE TIMED FOR OVERALL COURSE. \nGravel bikes recommended. Mountain bikes are capable. NO ROAD BIKES.
